Below are some of our common recruitment queries:

What kind of people are you looking for?

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed people who are keen to make a difference - in their chosen career, in the office they work in, the projects they work on and to the clients they work with. 

People with the qualification listed below, make up the majority of our staff but we do recruit people from all kinds of disciplines – for example somebody with a mathematics degree joined our Transport Teams as a Traffic Modeller!

What qualifications are you looking for?

We are a multidisciplinary consultancy so employ people from a variety of disciplines.

You don’t necessarily need a degree to work in Capita Symonds, our trainee programmes have been designed for school and college leavers.

How do I apply?

Once you find a suitable vacancy, you should apply online. Applying online means we receive you application straight away. To speed up the application process, have a copy of your CV and personal details to hand.

You can also save your information and come back later if you are not able to finish the application in one go. Please see the Applying for jobs page to find out more about applying online.

Can I contact the recruiting manager directly?

If you would like to know what jobs are available, please use the job search section of our website.

If you would like to discuss a particular vacancy in more detail then please speak to the recruitment contact listed on the job advert.

What vacancies are available in what locations?

Use the Job Search to see what vacancies we currently have at your preferred location. But remeber the more flexible you are in terms of location, the easier it will be for you to find a suitable job. There are occasions where we may be flexible on the location, depending on the vacancy.

How soon can I expect to hear back after a job application?

For vacancies displaying a closing date, we will be in touch once the recruiting manager has had the opportunity to review all applications.

In the case of speculative applications, we will be in touch as soon as we have circulated your CV to the relevant parts of the business and obtained feedback.

If you would like to check the status of a current application, then please get in touch with the named contact for that role.

Do you offer fixed term contract roles?

The majority of our vacancies are for permanent positions; however we do sometimes require fixed term employees to work on specific projects. If this is the case, it will be outlined in the vacancy details.

Do you accept application from people who require a work permit?

Yes. If you have the necessary skills and experience to meet the criteria specified in the vacancy details, we would be pleased to hear from you. We have staff that are experienced in dealing with work permit arrangements and can help you with the application.

Do you have any overseas vacancies?

Nearly all of our vacancies are based in the UK, although we do get opportunities to work overseas on particular projects but these are limited. Please look at our job search page for all our current positions.

What benefits are available?

Our benefits are dependant on the position, but may include childcare vouchers, company pension, company car / car allowance, private healthcare, Capita share options and share save scheme, corporate discounts through the Capita Value Scheme and interest free season ticket loans.  We also have many local reward and recognition schemes in place.

What support is there for training and development?

We place training and development at the centre of your career progression. We want all our staff to be successful and to be proud of their achievements and responsibilities. As a multidisciplinary company, we recognise that everyone has different training and development needs and offer a wide variety of options to all employees to enable them to develop both personally and professionally.

How much holiday will I get?

We provide a minimum holiday provision of 20 days, but this increases with length of service, and level of experience.

If successful, when can I start?

Once you have received a job offer, you will be able to discuss the start dates with the recruiting manager.

Can I apply for a summer placement or work experience?

Some of our offices may offer Summer Placements or Work Experience. To find out if any opportunities are available, contact your local office.

How many Graduates do you recruit?

Each year we recruit graduates across a variety of disciplines and locations. Details of our graduate vacancies can be found in the job search section of our website (To see all graduate vacancies, select ‘Graduate Opportunities’ from the ‘Discipline’ drop down).

We also employ a number of summer and year-out placement students each year. Contact your local office to see if there are any opportunities. To find your local office, go to the Contact Us area of the website.
